Our class is asking the question, "What types of alternative energy can we produce and use?"

BIOMASS
Respond to this post with information about biomass energy.
Biomass energy is a renewable energy resource made from recently living organisms. In my opinion Biomass energy is a great alternative source to fossil fuels!
Biomass is a type of energy that is created from living organisms or recently living. This includes plants that are grown to generate heat or electricity while still alive. Most of the biomass is used is direct incineration. It can be used for fuel or for the production of chemicals and fibers. This does not include organic materials such as coal or petroleum that are fossil fuels that have been transformed by geological process.
Biomass is an organic matter including wood and logging residues. Biomass is a source of renewable energy and most of biomass energy comes from plants.
Biomass is made of plants and stores energy from the sun. The chemical in biomass is released as heat when burned. For example when you burn firewood biomass energy is released.
Biomass is organic material made from plants and animals (microorganisms). Biomass contains stored energy from the sun. Plants absorb the sun's energy in a process called photosynthesis.
Biomass includes a variety of versatile renewable fuel sources derived from organic plant and animal material, such as wood, crops, landfill gas, solid waste, and alcohol fuels.
The most common form of biomass is wood. For thousands of years people have burned wood for heating and cooking. Wood continues to be a major source of energy in much of the developing world.
Biomass is any biological material that can be used as fuel. Biomass fuel is burned or converted in systems that produce heat, electricity, or both heat and power. Woodchips, wood pellets, and other low-grade wood wastes are the major type of biomass fuel.
Biomass is made from natural items such as bio-degraded trees and dead, bio-degrading animals. chemicals are put on the items and the chemicals extraxt methonal and ethonal. (Gases used to power things).

ReplyDeleteBurning biomass is one way to release its energy. Another way is to convert biomass into substances.

ReplyDeleteBiomass is organic material made from plants and animals and contaians stored energy from the sun.
ReplyDeleteBiomass energy is basically heat, turned into electricity. The heat energy and the heat itself can be used for many things like cooking, heating, ect.
