  1. The sun has produced energy for billions of years. Solar energy is the sun’s rays (solar radiation) that reach the Earth. This energy can be converted into other forms of energy, such as heat and electricity.

  4. Solar energy is produced from the sun's rays, and then can be converted to make heat and electricity. Solar power is a great choice of energy resources.

  5. Solar energy has been used since ancient times to make energy

  6. Solar energy after being gathered has to be captured and made in to power for us to use. The panels used to capture the sun are made of silicone and various other things. When the sunlight hits the panels it causes the silicon electrons to generate a magnetic current. It then changes the direct current in to alternating current. Then put to use powering different things.

  7. How much energy is in 174 Petawatts? Let me put it this way - just one Petawatt is enough to keep the electricity going in New York City for 3,846 days straight. 174 Petawatts is enough energy to keep New York City going for 669,204 days. Thats almost 1,833 years

  8. Solar energy can be used for many things including electricity, heating, cooling, and house lighting.

  9. The sun’s energy can be transformed into our own energy to live. The sun’s power will be used for many more years until the earth ends.

  10. Geothermal energy is found from the Earths core. The high temperatures are created by the decay of radioactive particles in rocks.

  11. Solar power accounts for less than 1% of U.S. electricity use.

  12. Solar energy comes from the radiant light energy from the sun.It radiates a huge amount of energy. Something interesting about solar energy is that it's responsible for weather patterns and ocean currents.

  13. The performance of a photovoltaic array is dependent upon sunlight. Climate conditions (such as clouds or fog) have a significant effect on the amount of solar energy received by a photovoltaic array.

  14. People can gather the energy from the sun with solar pannels and use the energy from the sun to generate power for us people to use.

  16. Solar energy is by far the Earth's most available energy source. Solar power is capable of providing many times the total current energy demand.

  17. Solar energy technologies use the sun's energy and light to provide heat, light, hot water, electricity, and even cooling, for homes, businesses, and industry.

  19. Today less than 0.1% of our heating, transportation and power energy comes from sunlight which is collected in to solar panals then transfered into electricity. It is now possible to meet all our energy needs with this simple, renewable energy resource.

  20. Solar panels are arrays of photvoltaic cells. They collect solar energy from the sun and are environmentally safe.

  21. Solar energy comes from the radiant light energy from the sun. It is a renewable energy source that businesses and homes use, so they don’t have to generate power.

  22. Solar Energy is clean, renewable (unlike gas, oil and coal) and sustainable, helping to protect our environment. It does not pollute our air by releasing carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, sulphur dioxide or mercury into the atmosphere like many traditional forms of electrical generation does. Therefore Solar Energy does not contribute to global warming, acid rain or smog.
